Small Business Saturday takes place November 26, 2016. Sunfall is planning an event featuring W Houston Fine Art Jewelry, unique sterling and cloisonné specialty jewelry. Shop small and find a perfect holiday gift.
Detail of "Standing Alone" painting by Diana Weitzel Graham. Diana will be at Sunfall July 1st for Lodi's First Friday Art Walk. She is currently working on a painting of Gibraltar Rock for Sunfall. You will be able to see that and her portfolio from 5 pm until 9 pm this Friday night.
Sunfall on Main is committed to selling only plants that are chemical free. Most commercial greenhouses use neonicotinoids (neonics) to keep insect populations down. They treat the soil and the plants take up this chemical systemically. Neonics have been shown to have a detrimental effect on bee populations. Staying away from chemicals and having healthy soil and good garden practices will give you the best plant results. Thank-you for considering the bees environment and ours!
Such a busy time of year, but so lovely. Appreciating family and friends with Thanksgiving. This month a renewing of our spirits with holidays and hibernation or rest from our other very busy seasons.
At Sunfall we love to showcase this season with handmade items from some very talented local artists and crafters. It really feels great to help you find a unique one of a kind gift made by Kipp, Carol, Sue, Maureen, Rick, Wayne, Diana, Laurie, David, and Steve. I personally love to see you appreciate their unique creations. I also love to sell our Wisconsin made soaps, lotions and candles from Good Earth Soaps and teas from Four Elements Herbals because they are local, quality products.
Thank you for shopping small town Lodi! I hope to see you soon.
Moonglow has been one of my daughters favorite tomatoes, but it won't be in my garden this year. I am lamenting that, but hoping the one I chose to grow this year will be just as wonderful. There are just too many varieties to try and Kellogg's Breakfast has been on my list a long time. I started some seeds at home in Hsu's potting soil blend and it is amazing how well they grow in this compared to the sterile seed starting blends I used to have to use in the greenhouse. Can't wait to get them in my garden and I will also have some for sale at Sunfall and at the Sauk Prairie Farmers market on Saturday morning, May23.
Tomato, Kellogg's Breakfast OrganicCatalog #1057A
(Solanum lycopersicum) West Virginia heirloom obtained from Darrell Kellogg of Redford, Michigan. Large orange beefsteak fruits weigh 1-2 pounds. Delicious rich flavor with a good acid/sugar balance. Very productive. Indeterminate, 80-90 days from transplant.
Our courtyard is finally looking good after bringing in some plants today. I love picking out combinations and it won't be long until they fill out. Some quality herbs, a few sweet violas or heirloom vegetable plants would all be great for a Mothers Day gift. All of plants are organically grown, which means no bee killing pesticides are used.
Come join us Friday night for first Fridays art kick off.

Happy chill in the air! Time for a fall project or two? Sunfall now carries Kipp's hand dyed wool and wool roving. Kipp has been selling here for close to 3 years now. Before that she had a shop in the Washington D.C. area and she also traveled to many shows. Choose individual pieces or kits. Her ready made aprons, purses, pins and towels make great gifts too. I love her bright colors and attention to detail. If you'd like some information on upcoming classes just send us a message and we'll get you on our update list.
It truly feels like spring now with these rains and humidity. Our plants are thriving as we start to move them outdoors and harden them off. I've also just started some more zucchini seeds in my favorite paper pots. More potmakers also just arrived if you would like to start your own seeds. The potmaker eliminates transplant shock by using newpaper strips to make your starter pot. Come on in and I'll give you a demo.
